Dreamweaver

So I am posting this from my droid, using some speech to text, but I might stop because I have to speak like a robot for it to pick up what I say correctly. Anyways, in my basics to new media class we learned how to manually code HTML and CSS. I thought it would be a pain, but it was actually not as bad as what I thought. Now in web design it seems like we are learning more of how to manipulate dreamweaver. I guess part of being a good we designer means being able to produce a functional and aesthetically appealing website in the most efficient way. I find myself getting lost or easily confused, not because I do not know what is going on, but because I am used to coding a certain way. One might say well if you are familiar with manually coding then this should be a sinch, but I beg to differ.
I love that I am learning how to get the most out of my dreamweaver experiece, but I have also realized that if one becomes to dependant on dreamweaver basically doing the work for them, one will no longer posess the skills to revert back to the manual way.
This for me ties into everyday life because if you think about it, technology is used not only for entertainment purposes, but also to make our lives "easier". I quote easier because I feel as though sometimes technology makes us lazy and by being lazy we get used to doing things the easy way and forget how to function the old fashioned way.
